Vingi Wong is a London based fashion textile designer who graduated from Central Saint Martins in July 2013. She has previously apprenticed in the studio of Christopher Kane, Jeremy Scott and Richard James.
Her work focuses on dramatic shape, decorative details and pushing the boundaries between tradition and modern craftsmanship, employing a wide variety of techniques such as silkscreen printing, print textile and hand embroidery innovatively. Her collection showcases a unique combination of ethnic elements and synthetic tubular material to express the human body silhouette, in which the lines and forms are preformed in a way that create a sense of deception and illusion.
Vingi’s work has been exhibited at a launch event of THEFooor Fashion Business Management team, as well as published at ilook magazine China, material girl magazine and Haunt Magazine, etc.
One of her dress has also been selected and soled to UK artists Grayson Perry and was worn in significant event such as British Turner’s Prize award and Guardian’s Open Weekend in British Museum.
Vingi Wong will be showcasing her latest collection at Showreel on 12th October.
