Victoria George is the designer behind Knitty Gritty clothing, a brand that combines the attitude of Streetwear, the detailing of traditional textiles with an added sense of conscience. Recycle… over dye… recut…and reuse. Creating unique designs for unique minds.
Collaboration is a key element within the brand and this comes in many forms, from working with artist to collaborate on fabric print and embroidery designs, to collaborating with photographers to merge traditional methods of knitting, crochet and patchwork with Graffiti and art to achieve urban womenswear fashion with haute-couture detailing.
Victoria works with a variety of materials utilizing and recycling fabrics, through a process of over printing to create unique fabric prints. The undyed yarns are sourced from local British mills and help maintain local farming industries, from here I then hand dye the yarns using Kettle dying technique.
Victoria showcased her collection at Brighton Fashion Week's Sustain Catwalk Show on Friday 10th October.
