I would describe my label style as feminine and sophisticated with a playful element. For my final collection I worked with the concept of origami, designing sharp paper – like folds, layering and strapping to create volume and texture.
The collection is inspired by an exhibition at the V and A museum entitled ‘Telling Tales’ showcasing furniture, lighting and ceramics that push the boundaries of design, particularly a chair created by Jurgen Bey. These designers inspired me to push the boundaries when when designing.
Specialising in knitwear and working with a mix of chunky and fine yarns of silk wool, this created and interesting juxtaposition between the subtle contours of the chunky yarns and sharp edges of the pleating.
