George May studied BA (Hons) Performance Sportswear Design at Falmouth University where he gained advanced technical knowledge and pattern cutting skills; this is used to create outerwear that combines elegant style with complete practicality.
Having been raised in the Oxfordshire countryside, nature acts as a great source of inspiration and is often the premise behind a collection. In his new AW14 collection “Country Life”, homemade ecological waterproofing techniques are applied to natural fabrics in order to enhance function and capture the concept story. The combination of emotive influences, immaculate proportions and high performance produces clothing that is perfectly suited to a modern woman’s needs.
This new approach to design is what has lead George May to be featured in the upcoming book, Europe: Rising Fashion Designers Volume 2 and previously commissioned to create a personally tailored dress for ethical designer, Orsola de Castro.
George will be showcasing his collection at the Sustain Show on Friday June 14th
