Elpida Hadzi-Vasileva was part of Motectum temporary sound installation created during a year-long residency at Gloucester Cathedral. The performance involved her unexpected and silent visit of the Cathedral cloisters and gardens, walking and enjoying the sounds in the space. Although the cloisters were full of visitors, she was a loner from another time and place, seen moving like a bird, wearing a gown made out of chicken skins, to combine ideas of the discarded and the ceremonial.
Elpida Hadzi-Vasileva is a finalist in our Showreel design compeition and will be showcasing her Beauty from Waste design at the Showreel performance as part of the Zeitgeist show on Friday 16th October. Elpida has a chance of winning a £1000 award, sponsored by Veolia Environmental.
