Claire Poggio is a sustainable womenswear designer, who was taught by a local fashion designer ‘Dorcas Hammond’ in Gibraltar. At the age of 20, Claire showcased a collection at Gibraltar Runway 2015. Her collection consisted of easy to wear statement pieces, which used up-cycled, re-used and organic materials. Many of her garments displayed cut-out details, which were filled with transparent re-used plastic.
Claire Poggio’s SS16 Collection will showcase a sporty ready to wear collection with a twist.
The use of Claire’s recyclable materials was to prompt her audience to open their minds and connect with the theme. Her aim was to show and educate people on how important sustainability is and how the possibilities and endless with what you can create out of ‘recyclable’ materials instead of turning it into waste.
Claire Poggio will be showcasing her collection at Brighton Fashion Week's Sustain catwalk show on Friday 16th October.
